![]() ![]() I grew up learning how to play when digital stuff was just beginning to get big, and as a guitarist I was always of the opinion that digital stuff was sacreligious and that TRULY great tone was only achievable through tube powered/driven amps and analog pedals (with the exception of digital delays and maybe reverb). I'm an old school guy as far as guitar tone goes, and I prefer my all tube amplifier and analog effects pedals. The tones of the amps and effects are top notch. By that I mean that I like it to sound as much like the actual amplifier models it's replicating, and I have to give it to Positive Grid, they did a great job on that particular part of it all. It's most important to me that it sound good. If that's the case and its an issue with Bias FX, that kinda sucks and I certainly wish I hadn't spent the money on it that I did. I always wondered about that, and it makes sense, because when I use it in standalone mode I don't have the crackling issue and it all works great and sounds pretty damn good. When you say HTML, are you referring to the fact that you have to be online to use it? I'm pretty sure you do in order for it to work in plugin mode, otherwise Reaper won't recognize the license and allow you to use it. To me it's another company with brilliant marketing and not so brilliant products I'm afraid. Not well coded compared to many developers out there. ![]() The thing about positive grid is that I think their plugins are like HTML or something. These sound pretty cool and also have a fair bit of oversampling, I think. Try some free ones by NALEX and Execonsulting. The other thing is to test out other amp sims. Discord is another application that can eat RAM. Make sure you don't have a ton of tabs open in chrome and things like that. Ive even gone through my file explorer and gotten rid of any files and programs that I dont use or need to try and maximize memory. Is there something I need to do in Reaper, or Bias FX2 or both? Or is there something I need to do with my CPU itself. It doesnt happen at all when I am using Bias FX2 as a standalone, it only happens when I use it as a plugin in Reaper but the the only thing I'll be using at the time is Reaper with the Bias FX2 plugin open and nothing else. I would like to know what I can do to solve this issue. I make sure when I am going to record that I restart my computer and I make sure that no other programs or apps other than Reaper are open/running (I cant say "not running" because I am sure even if I dont open other programs, there are still other programs/apps running. I don't use many other programs and have made a point not to install a bunch of stuff on this computer. I now have a cpu with 12GB and an i7 processor which, based on my previous discussions with people, is overkill for my basic needs. After a bunch of talkibg on forums I found out that I needed a more powerful cpu and it would solve the problem. Initially this problem was unbearable because I had a cheap budget 2GB computer. I need my sample rate low because latency kills the feel of playing the guitar. I am pretty sure it has to di with my latency/sample rate. ![]() When I arm a track and add Bias FX2, when i start to play guitar I get some crackling. I record guitar tracks and I use bias fx2. ![]()
